“The Great Reset” brought by the Pandemic

COVID-19 was identified in early 2020 and spread at an explosive pace. It caused many significant changes in our lives; lives that we had taken for granted. As we tried to overcome challenges posed by the pandemic, we were forced to think beyond conventional social norms. In some cases, we reassessed the value of certain ways of doing things. We started hearing a term, “The Great Reset ※,” which refers to changing existing social and economic systems. What is needed now is not a short-term solution, but a fundamental change that constructs a more sustainable society and economy.

Naturally Plus took “the Great Reset” as our own principle and viewed the COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity. We reviewed our goals and strategies and challenged ourselves to innovate. As a result, we achieved a sales of 100.1% compared to the previous year. Naturally Plus Japan generated an increased operating profit of 207.6% compared to the previous year. Naturally Plus’s “Great Reset” brought profit increases two years in a row despite the pandemic. Let me introduce you to some of our efforts.

“CONPUS”, Naturally Plus’s Official App

The initiative we described as “creating a business that can be conducted by a single smartphone” bore fruit when we launched Naturally Plus’s official app, “CONPUS”. The app integrates every aspect of Naturally Plus’s business. App users can place an order, change an order and confirm the points earned. Users can communicate with other members through chat. When a new member completes his/her registration, the upline members are notified by IBO. This innovative function makes members more excited and motivated, bringing new energy to the business. As of now, 3,366 members have downloaded the app※1.

A New Compensation System - Integrating MLM and Affiliate Businesses

We launched a new product, “Virus Buster Disinfecting Water” in September 2021. People can purchase this product without registering as an MLM member. They just need to become an affiliate in order to purchase Virus Buster. Some of Naturally Plus’s members registered as affiliates. They created their own landing internet sites and promoted these landing pages through social media networks such as LINE. This strategy leverages the strength of organizations, which is one of the unique characteristics of MLM business. The new system allows affiliates to introduce the product very easily to others and receive cash in return. The new system was well received. 5,500 units of Virus Busters were sold in four months from the product launch.

Evolution of Khachik Checker, Carotenoid Measuring Device

In August 2020, we started renting “Khachik Checker”, a device that measures the body’s carotenoid level instantly. Since we rent rather than sell the device, it became a source of stable monthly income. In September 2021, new functions such as measuring pulse and body age were added. Measured data can now be logged for personal health management. Khachik checker has evolved from a simple carotenoid measuring device to a multi-functional healthcare application. About 400 units of Khachik Checkers have been rented groupwide and 96,424 measurements have been recorded※2.

In Conclusion

I also would like to mention our MLM-based televised home shopping program started in 2020. In our 23rd fiscal year, we broadcast eight programs through this channel and sales reached US$5.1 million※2. Currently, we are working to add a wallet function to our “CONPUS” app. We plan to launch this function within this year.

We will continue observing changes in our business environment. We will flexibly re-design our business and reset conventional values when necessary. We will go forward at full force and exceed the results of the previous year once again.
