UNIVA's Mutual Aid Business

Since its launch in 2017, UNIVA Kyosai had been steadily increasing its sales, but the situation changed dramatically with the COVID-19 pandemic that began raging around the world in 2020. As many people get infected the coronavirus, the number of people hospitalized far exceeded the rate anticipated at the time of product design, resulting in significant losses. However, now that the coronavirus pandemic has finally subsided, we are undertaking various activities to make a fresh start from here.

To begin with, UNIVA Kyosai is not "insurance" but "mutual aid," but I think many people do not know the difference between "insurance" and "mutual aid." The difference between mutual aid and insurance is that insurance is a commercial business and is based on the principle of pursuing profits, so the general public can freely join.
On the other hand, since mutual aid associations are non-profit businesses and are established with the spirit of mutual aid within a group, people outside the group cannot join. The UNIVA Mutual Aid Cooperative is run for the benefit of Naturally Plus members and UNIVA Group employees and was established in March 2017.

Until now, UNIVA Kyosai has sold three types of products: "Comprehensive Coverage," "Medical Coverage," and "Drive Mate." In April 2024, we released a renewed version of "Drive Mate," called "NEW Drive Mate," as well as a new product, "Injury and Heat Stroke Coverage."

The recent summers have been extremely hot, and there has been a strong awareness of the risk of heatstroke, so this new "Injury/Heatstroke" product is a proactive response to such an environment. Membership is open to people up to age 89, and premiums are reasonable at 1,300 yen per month, so the plan has received an overwhelming response since its launch in April. The number of subscribers has already exceeded 500, and we believe this is an ideal product for Japan, where the birthrate is declining and the population is aging rapidly.

Our immediate goal is to focus on expanding sales of "Injury and Heat Stroke Insurance" and "NEW Drive Mate" with the aim of increasing the number of subscriptions, and in the future we plan to expand sales to organizations other than UNIVA Group members.

We would like to continue releasing many products to provide peace of mind to our members.
Please support the UNIVA Mutual Aid Association!
