This Year at UNIVA Fusion
Thanks to your support, UNIVA Fusion is now in its 16th fiscal year, after a year of upheaval due to the change in our majority shareholder, in which our financial results changed from September 2021-August 2022 to October-December 2022.
*On October 1, 2022, when Oak Capital became our majority (51%) shareholder, our formerly September-August fiscal year changed to January-December.
At the start of this fiscal year, UNIVA Fusion set ourselves the following two targets.
- Revamp our strongest product Kombucha, and
- Develop new Kombucha-related products.
Concerning our first goal, to revamp Kombucha: Previous experience has shown that periodic offerings of individual products result in recurring peaks and valleys in the number of new customers. The current valley persisted from around June 2022 through March 2023; The most likely reasons are the appearance in the market of new products claiming functional benefits and the inability of management to make rapid strategic decisions during the chaotic period of majority shareholder transition.
Now the executive team has come together to return to the basics and how to attract new customers. Specifics include shifting to a new system to replace the limited capacity and functionality of the current system, renegotiating out contract with our advertising agency, negotiating the extension of our current celebrity contracts, and free and open consideration of periodic offers of new services (tasks for which the marketing team will be primarily responsible).
Thanks to the hard work of our staff, our new customer number has gradually increased since April 2023. In May it had reached nearly 20,000. Our business model is called investing in future growth, but that makes it hard to recover our investment in the same fiscal year. So, we are positioning this fiscal year as a time to ensure sales and profitability in future fiscal years.
Turning, then, to our second goal, we are developing new products around Kombucha. Two kinds of products, Kombucha cosmetics and Kombucha supplements are currently being developed. Details are still confidential, but both will be unique in ways that are typical of UNIVA Fusion.
Kombucha cosmetics will be launched during this fiscal year. Kombucha supplements will be launched as soon as possible next year. Everyone should be looking forward to these launches.
For UNIVA Fusion this fiscal year is a time to gather our strength for our next steps. Look forward to UNIVA Fusion’s comeback in future fiscal years.
