UNIVA Energy and UNIVA Japan's Ambitions for 2025

From a conversation with the mayor of Horokanai, a town in Hokkaido that experiences heavy snowfall, in the summer of 2023, we started the vertical double-sided solar power plant after hearing that "in areas with heavy snowfall, it is not possible to build solar power stations, and it is not easy for a town to promote the use of renewable energy."
A year and a half has passed since then, and thanks to the successful results in Horokanai Town, three vertical double-sided solar panels have been built in Sapporo, Hakodate, and Niseko Town in Hokkaido, and the system is steadily spreading.

When demonstration tests started at UNIVA Japan in January of last year, there was only one domestic competitor, but in just the last year, more than four companies have emerged, and the system has rapidly expanded from the demonstration test level to practical use. This year, it is predicted that vertical double-sided solar panels will expand even further to a variety of regions and applications. In this context, a new company, UNIVA Energy, was established in January with the aim of becoming a leader in the industry.

Meanwhile, UNIVA Japan is specialized in energy conservation in air conditioning control devices, and in the facility business, we have qualified personnel such as first-class architects, first-class construction management engineers, and first-class electrical engineers, and we are qualified as a specific construction contractor (with no limit on order amount) for architecture, electrical engineering, and communications, etc., and in the future, these construction industry qualifications will be necessary for solar power construction, which is expected to cost over 40 million yen. Since December of last year, we have been working with North Energy to carry out rooftop waterproofing work in conjunction with the installation of solar panels at a medical corporation in Sapporo, which is scheduled to be completed in February. In addition to the domestic market, the air conditioning control device has now completed testing in Vietnam and is expanding its market overseas for practical implementation.

By leveraging this synergy within the UNIVA Group - UNIVA Energy, UNIVA Japan, and North Energy working together - it will be possible to develop a wide range of energy solutions, including renewable energy, energy conservation, and even overseas.

The three companies will work together to realize even greater synergy, opening up even greater possibilities! Beyond the changes we have seen in the past year, in 2025 we aim to expand our growth opportunities even further and play a major role in developing and realizing a sustainable society.
