UE Germany's vertical solar module inspection
UNIVA Energy (UE) visited Germany and inspected a pasture that has adopted agricultural solar power generation and Frankfurt Airport. Both sites have power generation facilities with an output of approximately 4 MW installed on vast pasture land of approximately 9 hectares. Data has also shown that the introduction of vertical solar panels on pastures has resulted in better growth of pastures than in areas where they are not installed. The facility installed at Frankfurt Airport is located along the runway that runs north and south at the airport, stretching for a total length of approximately 3 km, and is expected to generate electricity of around 17 MW once completed. UE hopes to continue working to promote the use of renewable energy in pastures, rangelands, farmland and airports in Japan.
